Price Break Rules
What it does
Apply "valued over/under $X" rules from official government tariff schedules. Many countries apply different duty rates depending on the declared value of goods. For example, knitted garments valued over $14/kg vs under $14/kg may have different rates. POTAL automatically detects and applies these price-break rules.
How to use it
Include product price
Set the price field in your classification or calculation request.
Add weight if applicable
Some price-break rules use per-kg values, so include weight_kg.
Classification auto-applies
The classify endpoint automatically considers price breaks when selecting the HS subheading.
Review in audit trail
The classification audit trail shows which price-break rule was applied, if any.
